Backyard Stairs

The project began with removing all of the grass where the steps were going to go and marking a line in the dirt as wide as the steps. Starting at the bottom, we dug out space for each step. Compacting the ground under the end of each step. By making sure each step was supported underneath, we reduced the chance for a step to shift or sink back under the step above. Our neighbors were surprised to see us lifting the stones and carrying them. They really do look heavier than they really are! Once the last step was in place we back-filled the exposed side of the steps and smoothed out the ground. After planting some ground cover, the steps look great! The entire job went quickly and looks fantastic!
